Adriana’s Vision of Home
There must be some truth to the saying, “home is where the heart is”.
I know that yearnings, desires, aches, and longings of the heart guide my life. It is the part of me that longs for connection, compassion, and love. The more attention I give to the way of the heart, the more I see that there is a way of the heart, not just for human beings, but for animals, plants, trees, oceans, rivers, and insects. And the more that I follow this subtle and tender way, I see that I can treat myself and others with more patience and acceptance. This desire and willingness to open and connect is alive when I take a walk along the shoreline, a hike on mountain trails, seeing animals that I rarely witness such as a giraffe, sailing in open miles of ocean, smelling flowers, and looking up at the clouds in the sky.
There is a sweetness, a tenderness, and a subtle joy found in Nature. This softness has been forgotten. If home is where the heart is, my vision for the planet is that we as a human race recaputure the capacity to open, connect, and love what is currently being destroyed, defiled, and disrespected.
My vision is
- that we love, honor, and cherish what this life has given us.
- that we begin to see how alive the Earth really is.
- that water is plentiful.
- Nature’s colors are brilliant and beautiful.
- we can hear Gaia’s heart and listen to her way.
- that the Earth is sustainable.
- that we dissolve the barrier between human and Nature.
- we recognize that life is a complex holistic system of which humans are only a part.
